Robert Lee Rahm passed away on April 27, 2024 at the age of 82, in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He was born on February 19, 1942 in Evansville, Indiana to Hazel and Clarence Rahm. He grew up in Evansville and graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School. Soon after, he fell head over heels for his wife, Donna Jean Rahm, when her cousin introduced them one day. Robert proudly served in the United States Navy for 30 years. His significant duty stations included the USS Fulton AS-11, USS Great Sitkin AE-17, Helantisubron Eleven, Atkron Fifteen, and USS Luce DDG-38. Over the course of his esteemed career, he was awarded with a Navy Commendation Medal, two Navy Achievement Medals, seven Navy Good Conduct Medals, a Navy Expeditionary Medal, and two National Defense Service Medals. He finished his career in the Navy as the Command Master Chief at the Navy Training Center in Orlando, Florida. Following his career in the Navy, Robert worked as a dedicated custodian at Orange Park High School until he retired. However, his most important and rewarding career was being a father and grandfather. His greatest joy in life was being involved with his family including coaching his children’s sports teams, joining his son in becoming an Eagle Scout, and vacationing with the family. He particularly enjoyed trips to Disney and spending time in the mountains. Additionally, he was a huge Gators fan and proudly rooted them on as a member of the Gator Boosters Club. He is survived by his sister, Donna Middleton, and his children: Scott (spouse Samantha) Rahm, Sheri (spouse Reese) Blanton, and Sandra (spouse Mark) Gross. Robert’s legacy continues to inspire his nine adored grandchildren: Ryan Mitchell, Michael Devinney, Erin Winter, Kaitlin and Dylan Blanton, Ansley and Emily Gross, and Henry and Olive Rahm. His six great-grandchildren will remain forever moved by their great-grandfather’s love. Robert was an accomplished man with several accolades. He is fondly remembered for his kindness, his patience, and his immense love for his family and pets, and will live on forever in the lives he touched.
