Rosalea Gray Suter (Rose)

January 2, 1932 to September 21, 2024

Born to Percy Odell Gray and Lydia Adell Cahoun in the little town of Stumpy Point, NC. She was raised in this small fishing community until 1950. She won an oratory award in 1946 and graduated with her high school diploma in the last class at the Stumpy Point school in 1950. In 1950 she moved to Baltimore. It was here she met the love of her life Raymond J. Suter Jr. (Mike). The were married in 1952 and enjoyed 57 years together before he passed in 2009.

A woman of faith, she was a member of the Bethany Methodist Church in Ellicott City MD. There she enjoyed traveling with the church group, needlepointing kneelers, and charity activities for youth groups.

A homemaker extraordinaire Rose is survived by her four children. Norma Suter Belet, Michael Wayne Suter, Joseph Glenn Suter and Raymond Scott Suter. She considered it her greatest legacy to have four happy, healthy and successful children and a tremendous blessing to have all her children survive her and by her side in her final year.

In 2013, Rose moved to Moosehaven in Orange Park, FL. She enjoyed independent living and all the activities of senior living the campus offered. As her health declined, she moved to assisted living and finally to skilled nursing. In her final days she wanted to thank the staff at Moosehaven for their loving care. Her instructions to her friends and family:

“Remember me as I am living not at my death”
