Rosalie (Prokop) McDonald, 84, of Orange Park, Florida, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024. Rosalie was born February 16th, 1940, in Warsaw, Poland to German parents, Alexander and Irma Prokop. Rosalie and her family returned to Germany when she was very young, where she lived until her mid 20's. She then met Air Force member Charles (Mac) McDonald, and they were married in Wiesbaden, Germany on June 18th, 1966. They soon moved to the United States, where she became a US citizen and resided for the remainder of her life. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Senon Prokop of Trossingen, Germany, as well as her daughter-in-law, Kellie McDonald of Orange Park, Florida.
Rosalie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Mac McDonald; daughter, Natalie McDonald; oldest son, Steven McDonald of Orange Park, FL and youngest son, Brian and daughter-in-law, Heather McDonald of Greenwood, Indiana. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, and Jacob McDonald of Orange Park, Florida, Alyssa and Julia McDonald of Greenwood, Indiana, and Braden Bundy of Chewelah, Washington.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, an amazing mother, and a beloved grandmother. She was a devout Christian and Jesus was her Lord and Savior. Rosalie will be deeply missed by all.
The graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
