Ruby Lee Hekkel

Ruby passed away June 22, 2020 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 97.

She was born to Homer and Lonie Ballard on January 8, 1923 in Dallas County, Arkansas.

Ruby married Benjamin Hekkel on February 27, 1956. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1973. She had three sons, Homer, Rockey and Gary and daughter Onie. Onie preceded her in death in 2010.

She was a Nurses Aid for Fresno Community Hospital, homemaker and mother.

Ruby became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on January 13, 1981 when she joined Fresno, CA Chapter #535.

She came to Moosehaven on February 16, 2012 where she has resided for 8 years.

Ruby will be laid to rest in Fresno Memorial Gardens, Fresno, CA.

She is survived by son Rocky Hekkel of Niceville, FL, Homer Penny of Fresno, CA, Gary Hekkel of Fall River Mills, and grandson Richard(Angela) Ward of Prosper, TX.
