Ruth Helen Bellows Lippa, age of 101, passed on to her next journey, Monday, January 09, 2023 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.
She was born July 7, 1921 in Erie County, New York. She is the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Ruth Colling Bellows.
She is preceded in death by 2 of her children, Carmen (George) and Lucia (David). Her 4 siblings, James (Marlene), Evelyn (Walter), Doris (James) and Ralph.
Great memories lie with her surviving family. Survivors include her daughter, Mary and her son, Louis, both of New York. She has 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a true patriot during W.W.II. She worked as a supervisor at Curtis-Wright Airplane Company in New York, on the riveting line. She joined the veterans of Foreign War organization and was in charge of carrying the American Flag in all of the social events in her community. She worked in the Rectory as a secretarial assistant to the Priest of her parish at St. Mary’s of the Assumption in New York.
Ruth loved to cook, so much that she shared her cooking through compassionate service to others in need. Her fortitude to overcome cancer and maintain her life as a wife, and mother was stronger than giving into the cancer alternative and she lived over a century to prove it. Ruth’s desire to serve the Lord, her children and her community has shown in her actions.
