Sallie Langley, 84, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away March 15, 2018. She was born on January 9, 1934 in Petros, TN to the late James and Mamie (Bunch) Phillips. Sallie was a resident of the area for 60 years coming from Tennessee and a member of Russell Baptist Church. She was a wonderful quilt maker, making and donating 84 quilts. Sallie was hard working, loving and always had an open-door policy to all those in need. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. Sallie is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James “Don” Langley and Carl Patria; sons, Wesley, Bobby and Ricky Langley; brothers, Junior and Oscar Phillips; sisters, Dolly Fay and Alice Ferguson.
Survivors include her son, James Donald Langley, Jr.(Barbara); daughters, Jodi Witt (Steve), Mary Post (Joe) and Louise Payne (Scotty); step-daughter, Sharon Chaney (Rusty); brothers, C.B. Phillips, Bob Phillips and James Phillips; sisters, Ina Gonzalez and Christain Carroll; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 1:00pm on Monday, March 19, 2018 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and funeral services will start at 2:00pm with Reverend Ron Baker officiating. Private burial will take place at Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
