Sandy Johns

Sandra Joyce Johns, 81, of Orange Park, FL passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024. Born to Dudley G Garland and Mary E Garland (McGowan) on September 16,1942 in Jacksonville Florida. She was a graduate of Forrest High School.  

Known as Sandy, Mom, and Granny or Granny Sandy she was a member of 103rd Street Baptist Church, a proud mother of four boys, Granny to eleven Grandchildren and three Great grandchildren, a loving and supportive Sister and a caring Aunt. 

Sandy's favorite pastimes were spending time with family, babysitting Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Shopping, watching “Chicago Fire” and “Blue Bloods” and providing emotional and physical support for those that needed random “Sick Days”. 

Survived by her sons Billy (Tabbatha) Johns, Mark Johns, Ben (Lisa) Johns, Max (Kate) Johns; sister Bonnie Pineda; grandchildren Mikki Johns and Casee Johns their mother Jill Johns, Tyler Garland, Madison Johns and Kennedy Youmans (Joshua) their mother Gretchen Johns, Sebastian Pineda, Sawyer Johns, Josiah Johns, Christopher Johns, Samuel Johns, Silas Johns; and great-grandchildren Julian Callaway, Fallyon Pineda and Ember Pineda. Nephew Scott Hoch and Cousin Dan Dayoff. 

Preceded in death by her husband BL Johns, parents Dudley and Mary Ellen Garland, sister Jackie Hoch, brother Dudley Garland Jr. and brother Terri Garland. 

Viewing/visitation will be held Friday, June 7th from 10 am - 11 am at 103rd Street Baptist Church (8819 103rd Street, Jacksonville, FL) with a service immediately to follow officiated by Rev. James Turner. Burial service will be at Jacksonville Memory Gardens (111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL) following the church service.
