Sgt. Jere Ben Thomas

Jere Ben Thomas, 88 of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away February 12, 2020. Visitation was Sunday, February 16, 11 AM ~ 2 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson. The Funeral Service began at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment and Military Honors will be in Stevenson City Cemetery.

Jere Ben was the son of Walter Russell and Bennie Lee Riddle Thomas born July 14, 1931 in Richard City, TN. He was a Stevenson High School Graduate Class of 1949. Jere Ben was U.S. Marine Corps Korean War Veteran having fought in the Chosin Reservior Campaign in 1950. He was a member of Bolivar Masonic Lodge, VFW, Elks Club in Green Cove Springs and Shriners in Tampa.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Ruby Troxell Thomas and brother, John Walter Riddle Thomas.

Survivors include his brother, Charles Wendell (Carolyn) Thomas of Stevenson; sister-in-law, Beth Thomas and nephew, David Thomas both of Richmond, VA and special friend, Tom Bradford of FL.
