Sharon (Johnson) Mills, 64, of Silver Springs, FL, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 in Ocala, Florida, with her loving husband, sister and brother-in-law by her side. Sharon was born on March 2, 1953 in the Canal Zone, Panama, to Dr. C Paul (deceased) and Margaret (Peggy) Johnson. Her family liked to say that her entry into the world stopped traffic – sea traffic – as the locks in the canal had to be stopped to enable Peggy to make it across the great shipping channel to the hospital on the other side. A few years later, the family moved to various places through Naval appointments, including Annapolis, Maryland; Key West, Florida; Bethesda, Maryland and Jacksonville, FL, where the family settled permanently. Sharon attended Venetia Elementary, Lake Shore Jr. High School and Robert E Lee High School. Sharon was trained as a dental hygienist and worked as a dental assistant and office manager over the years. She is preceded in death by her father, Paul Johnson, and her brother-in-law Jim Montague. She is survived by her husband, David, stepson David Mills Jr., mother, Peggy Johnson, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy (Jerry) Munn, Kristin (David) Brett, and Joan (Johnson) Montague, brother Jeff (April) Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Murphy. Always spunky, spontaneous and fun, Sharon was an incredibly kind and loving daughter, sister, wife and friend. As a young woman she enjoyed dancing, boating, going to the beach and almost anything outdoors. She loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards or any board games, reading and making brownies we all looked forward to devouring. In recent years, she loved to travel, especially trips to the Florida Panhandle and west coast beaches with David and Murphy. There will be a private family gathering.
