Shirley L. Hildebrandt

(December 4, 1940 - December 5, 2024)

Shirley L. Hildebrandt, age 84, daughter of John and Selma Bentley, was born on December 4, 1940, in Megargel, Texas and passed away December 5, 2024 at her Jacksonville, Florida residence in the presence of her daughter Julie. She was a loving wife, married for 61 years to Ken Hildebrandt. 

Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother. She supported Ken while he served in the military by volunteering at the USO, the Red Cross and had the responsibility to take care of the home and their two daughters. She obtained her AA degree from Florida Junior College in Jacksonville, Florida. She also published several short stories for children. She loved to play golf, chess and the family domino game - 42. She and her grandson, Sean were a hard team to beat and they won almost every game they played against others. 

Shirley leaves behind two beloved daughters, Julie and Tina; grandsons, Sean and Brandon; brother Charles Bentley; sisters Sarah Bentley Stroud and Helen MacAskill. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, several siblings and her granddaughter Caitlin Elizabeth.
