Steven Edward Whitener

Steven Edward Whitener, 64, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on June 16, 2023 at Orange Park Medical Center.  Born to Marvin & Edith Whitener on March 7, 1959 at Peoria Medical Center in Green Cove Springs, Florida.  He went to Orange Park High School and was the Owner/Operator of Steve Whitener Trucking.

Stevie was an avid hunter and an incredibly talented dirt racecar Champion who was so passionate for the sport.  Stevie will be remembered for his racing career at Jax Raceways and surrounding tracks, his big smile, his fun-loving personality and his love for his wife, family and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his Mom, Dad and his Niece, Sheila Whitener Coleman.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa, children Joyce Lynn McCormack (Zach), Samantha Jo Reed (Brandon), Jessi Whitener, Tina McMillan (Kyle), Charles McMillan (Keri), Tonya McMillan, Chris McMillan (Brandy),  Brother Marty Whitener (Sherry), Sister Pam Cole (Greg), Fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, Lots of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Please join the family to share stories of Stevie’s life at David Whitener’s Home at 866 Washington Avenue, Orange Park, FL.  All are welcome.  

A special Thank you to his nephews Mark & David and Cousin Dwight for being by his side through his time of need.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 22, 2023 with Pastor Rusty Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in Peoria Cemetery.
