Elizabeth “Susie” Gail Hitchcock

Passed away at the age of 61

At St. Vincent in Middleburg, FL on June 26, 2023

She was a graduate of Wolfson High School, worked and retired from Popeye’s Chicken. She was married to Richard Perry Hitchcock III. 

She loved boating and fishing with her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. She also loved spending time watching her favorite shows with the 3 dogs.

She will be remembered most as being a loving wife, mother, grandmother as well as best friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Jo Britt McCarthy and John Patrick McCarthy; daughter, Samantha Marie Hawkins; son, Christopher Wayne Hawkins and husband, Wayne Everett Hawkins.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Perry Hitchcock III; daughter, Brittany Gail Hawkins; brothers, Jimmy Arren McCarthy and John Russell McCarthy, and his wife Tammy Renee McCarthy; grandchildren, Samantha Jo Hawkins, Betty Jean Marie Hawkins, Hope Faith Breon and Victora Sno Jo Hawkins; niece, Jessica Renee McCarthy and nephew, Jonathan Russell McCarthy. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, June 30, 2023 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and funeral services will begin at 11:00am.  Burial will follow in Penney Farms Cemetery.
