Theodore Belkot

        Theodore Belkot May 21, 1923 – March 18, 2019   Ted passed away March 18, 2019 in the Moosehaven Health Care Center at the age of 95.   He was born to John and Gladys Belkot on May 21, 1923 in Erie, Pennsylvania. Ted married the love of his life, Dolores Rogowski on July 15, 1950 at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Erie, Pennsylvania, where five of their six sons were born.    Ted moved the family to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1959 after obtaining work as a dental technician.  In 1970, Ted founded and operated the Belkot Dental Lab in Beechview until his retirement.   Ted became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on March 10, 1957 and later joined the Beechview Pennsylvania Lodge #609 where he was a member until his move to Florida last June.    He and Dolores came to Moosehaven on June 21, 2018 where he resided for the past eight months.    Ted is survived by his wife Dolores, sons David (late Antoinette) of Pittsburgh, PA Theodore (Donna Mae) of Hamilton NJ, Paul (Karen) of Jacksonville, FL, Gary (Linda) of Georgetown, DE, Kenwyn (Dana) of Wexford, PA, and Dennis (Michele) of Vancouver, WA. Ted was blessed with eighteen grandchildren (2 of which predeceased him), and eleven great grandchildren.    The viewing and family visitation will be held at the Moosehaven Chapel from 12:30p.m. - 1:30p.m., on Thursday March 21, 2019.   Officers of Opportunity Lodge Service of Tribute will take place at 1:30p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass with Father John Sollee, Parochial Vicar, of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating.  Ted’s final resting place will be in the Moosehaven Mausoleum.  A reception will follow at the home of Paul and Karen Belkot in Mandarin, FL.   In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Moosehaven Charities to be earmarked for Mooseheart, a place for children to grow.
