Theodore Deering Manning, Jr. was born to Theodore Deering Manning, Sr. and Sarah Manning on November 16, 1955 in Belhaven, NC. Ted received a Master’s Degree in Theology studying Old Testament Hebrew while attending Oral Roberts University in 1985 and then received his MBA at Nova Southeastern University in 1997.
Ted played trumpet, piano, as well as sang and loved to serve the Lord in his local church. He was an avid runner and enjoyed fishing with his sons, Austin and Samuel. He loved to study the Bible and teach the Word. Ted will be remembered for his smile, his leading praise and worship for many years, his sweet disposition as he dealt with Alzheimer’s disease the last five years of his life, and most importantly as a faithful follower of Christ.
Ted is preceded in death by his mother and father, Theodore Deering Manning, Sr. and Sarah Manning, his daughter Shannon Manning, son, Nathaniel Manning, and his nieces Rebekah and Katy Williams.
Ted is survived by his daughters Rachel Phillips (Brian), Sarah Wilson (John), sons Austin and Samuel Manning; grandchildren Grant and Reese Phillips (Maitlyn), Allison and Aubrey Manning, and Anne, Kate, Evelyn Wilson and well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, April 12, 2024 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Reverend Brian Phillips officiating. Burial at Holly Hill Memorial Park will be private at a later time.
