Tim Skaggs, age 63, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away on February 9, 2025. Born in Lorain, OH, to Paul and Carol Skaggs. Tim proudly served in the United States Navy from 1982 until his retirement in 2002, achieving the rank of First Class AZ1.
Tim is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carol Skaggs, and his brother, Mark Skaggs. He is survived by his wife, Angela Skaggs; daughters Monica (John) Dodson, Ashly (Brandon) Winebarger; son Shaun (Izabella) Skaggs; and five grandchildren, Kristofer, Kirra, Abigail, Emma, and Beckham. He is also survived by his father, Paul Skaggs, and his sisters Tamara Waterson and Misty Skaggs.
Tim had a love for sports, especially playing basketball, spent much of his free time playing golf, watching any sport he could find on TV, and he shared a special bond with his wife on their bowling league. Sundays were dedicated to football while rooting for the Jaguars. Tim was well known for his stubbornness, unapologetic personality, and his ability to always have a good time. Those who knew him will fondly remember his need for coffee before engaging in conversation, his love for Rock and Roll, and his ever-present sense of humor.
A viewing and funeral service will be held at Broadus-Raines, 501 Spring Street, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043, on Tuesday, February 18th. The viewing will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by services at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Chad Weeks. Tim will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 PM with Military Honors.
Tim was a dedicated and loving son, husband, father, Papa Tim, and brother, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and steadfast devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
