Timothy Edward Anken, 75 years old, of Orange Park, FL passed away on Monday, July 14, 2023. He was born to Albert Edward Anken and Mary Rose Kinney Anken on January 20, 1948, in Utica, New York. Timothy graduated from Utica Free Academy, attended Mohawk Community College, and joined the Navy. He worked for Logistics Services International for 26 years, served in the Navy for 22 years and completed college after his military career. He went on to earn a Master of Education and met his wife Lucille Yolande Paquette after basic training while stationed at Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine, in 1967. They married on June 26, 1971, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Biddeford, Maine. They were blessed with three sons, David Robert, James Thomas, and Brian Edward. Timothy was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian where he served as an Elder on the session for 6 years and chaired the Facilities Committee. His favorite pastimes were golfing, reading books, working in the yard and in the garage. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Preceded in death by his father, Albert Anken; his mother, Mary Anken; his brother, Fred Anken; eldest son, David R. Anken; daughter-in-law, Michelle Anken (James Anken) of Irmo, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Richard Butler (Rose) of Utica, New York. He is survived by his wife, Lucille, of 52 years from Orange Park, FL; sons, James of Irmo, South Carolina; Brian (Anna Anken) of Orange Park, FL; and Jennifer Anken (David Anken) of Tavares, FL. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Matthew, Christopher of Irmo, South Carolina (James); Owen, Noah, Georgia, Daniel of Orange Park, FL. (Brian) and Dayva, of Tavares, FL (David). A full military memorial service will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, on July 31, at 11:00 a.m. at 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 by the Reverend Diane Wilson, from the First Presbyterian Church (PCUSA), in Starke, FL. In lieu of Flowers, family requests donations be made to any charity that helps those in medical need. A Celebration of life with light luncheon will be held at the St. Giles Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on July 31, 2023 following the service at 116 Fox Ridge Road, Orange Park, Florida, 32065.
