Timothy Lee Sutherland, Sr.

Timothy Lee Sutherland Sr., of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Tim was born to Averill Sutherland and Thelma Atkinson on June 10, 1944, in Portage Lake, Maine. He attended high school in Torrington Connecticut and joined the Navy in 1963. Following his military service, he worked for a marketing firm which led him to south Florida, where he met his wife, Carolyn. They had two children, Tammy Bizier and Timothy Sutherland II. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, bowling, and watching professional wrestling.

He is preceded in death by his wife, son-in-law, parents and three brothers.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Bizier; son, Timothy Sutherland II (Julie Sutherland); grandchildren, Jarrod (Andrea) Burton, Marissa (Cindy) Brown, Britton Sutherland and Reese Sutherland; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Burton, Cameron Brown and baby Brown due in November; his brothers, Pat, Carter, Terry and Bill Sutherland.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
