Todd Arthur Richter

Todd Arthur Richter, 71, of Orange Park, Florida passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

He was born in Los Angeles, California on May 17, 1950 to Arthur Benhart Richter and Sylvia Eunice Kendall.

He served 26 honorable years in the United States Navy before retiring as an E9 Aviation Master Chief. After retirement he Volunteered as a deputy for the Clay County Police Department and was the Owner and President of Wood and Associates Inc.

He enjoyed serving at the Fleet Reserve Association 91 for 35 years were he had many roles including President of the club and Secretary of the branch. He also volunteered as President of the Spencer’s Crossing Homeowners Association for 27 years until his passing. He loved his wife who was his best friend whom he married in August of 2014. He loved his children and took great pride in their accomplishments and his grandchildren brought him great joy. He was a kind man who would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed westerns so much so that while in the military he was given the nickname “Gritt” from the western movie, True Gritt, because he was so tough. He also enjoyed fishing in the pond behind his home.

Todd is predeceased by his parents and brother, Chris Richter. He is survived by his wife, Linda Richter, sister, Suzanna Deistchle, brother, Jeff Alden, daughter, Kelly Perkins, son, Seth Richter, 3 grandchildren Austin, Caitlin, Lauren and niece, Stephanie Wnuk.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Fleet Reserve Branch 91, 5391 Collins Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32244  with Chaplain Frank Royal, Fleet Reserve Branch 91, officiating.
