Vera Ellen Rawls Rich

Vera Ellen Rich met her heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. A loving wife and mother, she passed unexpectently at the age of 67.  Vera was born on August 5, 1953 in Jacksonville, FL to Robert and Wilma Rawls.  She married the love of her life Jimmie Arnold Rich on August 4,1973.  Together they raised their daughter, Jaime Dawn. 

Vera received her Master Degree’s in accounting, business administration and computer sciences from the University of North Florida in 1992.  She worked as a Certified Public Accountant until her retirement in 2015.

Vera was known for her beautiful spirit and loving heart.  Never a follower, she always lived her life to the fullest and on her own terms.  She had a passion for gardening, travel, art, history and all of God’s creations. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and loved ones.

Vera Ellen Rich was predeceased by her father Robert Rawls, mother Wilma Higginbotham Rawls Morehouse Willoughby, step- fathers Norman Morehouse, and Paul Willoughby.  Additionally her in- laws Arthur and Cecil Rich, brother- in- laws Woodie and George Rich, Thomas DesJean, and sister- in- laws Marie and Fern Rich.  She is survived by her husband Jim of 47 years and daughter Jaime (Waleed) Eadeh.  Her sister Vicki Rawls DesJean and her brother Vernon (Donni) Rawls as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Her family will hold a private ceremony to spread her ashes at a later date, per her wishes.
