Vickie Houldson

Vickie Lavon Houldson, 74 of Green Cove Springs passed away August 27, 2023.  Born to Clarence Ansel Doan and Katherine Green Doan on June 19, 1949 in Clinton, Indiana. She moved to Green Cove Springs at the age of 7 and graduated from Clay High School in 1967. Vickie retired from the Clay County Sheriff’s office and was a member of the True Life Church in Middleburg, FL.

Her hobbies included puzzles, church functions and she was an avid thrift shopper.

She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother along with her faith in God and devotion to her church.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Ansel Doan and Katherine Green Doan; 4 brothers and 2 sisters, Alice Gilbert, Frank Doan (Betty), Lee Doan (Mija), Stanley Williams (Boots), Louis Doan (Sue), and Mary Doan; and 2 late husbands, Arthur W. Ivey, and Gene Houldson.

Survivors include her 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Tom Doan (Faye), David Doan, Kathy Callaway (Dennis), and Emma Doan all of Green Cove Springs, FL.  4 sons and 1 daughter:  Michael French, Travis Ivey (Julia), Stuart Ivey, all of Green Cove Springs, FL, Zach Houldson (Centa) of Middleburg, FL, and Jenny Barrga (Eliseo) of Vacaville, CA.  She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will be the same day starting at 2:00pm with Pastor Billy Register officiating and burial will follow at Penney Farms Cemetery.
