Victor Nicholas Vuyosevich

July 28, 1940 – November 9, 2020

Victor Vuyosevich passed away on Monday morning, November 9, 2020.  He was born on July 28, 1940 in Hackensack, New Jersey to Victor Nicholas and Mary Morsheuser Vuyosevich, both of whom preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nyla who died on February 23, 2017.  He is survived by his sister, Elaine Vuyosevich Imber and her husband, Jack Imber and her brother, John     Andrew Vuyosevich, his wife Ann Wysong and their daughter, Catherine Chambers Vuyosevich.

Victor graduated from Chatham High School in Chatham, New Jersey in June 1958.  He attended Colorado State College before enlisting in the U.S Air Force for 2 years.

Vic married Nyla Jane Dyk on February 17, 1979 and lived in Greeley, Colorado for several years before relocating to Washington, North Carolina where his parents had retired.  Vic and Nyla were active members of Christian churches wherever they lived.  Vic was a photography enthusiast and worked for Ritz Camera both in North Carolina and Florida.  Vic and Nyla later moved to Port Orange, Florida where Vic was very much involved in the annual Daytona 500 race.

Vic became involved with the Loyal Order of Moose in Greeley, Colorado. He later joined the Daytona Beach, Florida Lodge # 1263 where most recently he was a member of Moose Legion St Johns River #227. He received his fellowship degree on July 29, 1984.  Vic became a member of the Moosehaven Retirement Community in Orange Park, Florida on October 15, 2019.  While he lived at Moosehaven, Vic greatly enjoyed photographing birds (ducks and hawks) and riding around on his scooter as fast as he could.  One of the security guards called him “Vic Velocity”.

Vic will be missed by all who knew him.  There will be no formal service due to the pandemic.  We will each have our own service for Vic in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, Vic would appreciate donations to Journey’s End Animal Sanctuary, 220163 Glenwood, FL 32722 (386 736 6396).  They have been taking care of Vic’s dogs Sandy and Zoe once he went to Moosehaven.
