Virginia H. Leslie

Virginia Hoch Leslie, age 88, of Orange Park, FL, passed away on October 20, 2020. Born on November 26, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the only child of the late William Joseph Hoch and Elsie Marie Holstein. She is survived by three daughters – Christine (Michael) Weeks of Green Cove Springs, FL; Catherine (Richard) Robbins of Orange Park, FL; and Cynthia (Randy) Whitson of Asheville, NC – and six grandchildren – Tyler and Matthew Robbins, Drew and Wesley Weeks, and Bayley and Brody Whitson.  Following her retirement, she kept busy as a teacher at Orange Park Kindergarten and made lasting relationships with the faculty and children she taught for many years. She was also a resident at Riverside Presbyterian Apartments where she made so many wonderful new friends, stayed active as a member of the council and enjoyed planning and attending social events and trips. Later in life, she resided at St. Catherine Laboure Place, where new friendships were made with those who cared for her and whom the family is indebted to for helping her during a difficult transition when COVID kept them out. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the medical professionals, caregivers, friends, and the management and residents at Riverside Presbyterian Apartments and St. Catherine Laboure Place who provided a wonderful support system and were so involved in her care over the past several years. Due to COVID restrictions, a private graveside burial service will be held on November 28, 2020 at Penney Farms Cemetery, Green Cove Springs, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in her honor to St. Catherine Laboure Place, 1750 Stockton Street, Jacksonville, FL  32204.
