Chapter #1046
Virginia “Gina” Winkler
Virginia Winkler, age 92, was called to be in the arms of God on August 3, 2022.
She was born in Maywood, Illinois to Roy and Margaret Haupt on July 2, 1930. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings and her first child, Michael, who were waiting to welcome her home.
Gina is survived by Raymond, her loving and devoted husband of 69 years, her four children and their spouses; Diane (Bill) Roersma, Donna (Jim) Baker, Dan (Amy) Winkler, and Doug (Pam) Winkler, ten grandchildren; Jodi, Sarah, Nate, Jeff, Kristin, Laura, Penny, Nolan, Sydney, and MacKenzie, and eighteen great grandchildren. She traveled throughout all 50 states, took over 50 cruises, and seized every opportunity to explore new adventures and a wide variety of experiences with Ray by her side. Baseball and softball always held a special place in Gina’s heart.
Gina and Ray joined the Moosehaven family in Orange Park, Florida in 2018 and instantly became active residents on campus. She was especially honored to be named Ms. Moosehaven in 2019. Ray and family are very appreciative of the compassionate support of the Moosehaven staff.
