W. Roger Harvey, 55, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away January 20, 2018. He was born on February 28, 1962 in Starke, FL to parents Walter and Dorothy (Price) Harvey. Mr. Harvey had worked for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and retired from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. He currently was the HVAC teacher at Ridgeview High School as well as their head softball coach. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in St. Augustine and in his free time he enjoyed A/C work, going to Disney World and was an avid softball enthusiast.
Survivors include his parents, Walter and Dot Harvey; wife, Nancy Harvey; children, Jessica Crump (Ben), Victoria Hall (Jon) and Emily Harvey; brother, Donnie Harvey (Brenda); grandchildren, Savannah Hall and Grant and Ryleigh Crump and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, January 26, 2018 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Fr. Guy Noonan as Celebrant. Interment with Clay County Sheriff’s Office Honors will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Green Cove Springs, Florida.Thursday, January 25, 2018
