Walter Scott Dartt resided in Middleburg, Florida. He passed away October 25, 2021. He was 79 years old at the time of his passing.
Born to Evangeline Frances and Walter Schuyler Dartt on June 15, 1942 in Everett, Washington.
Scott was an army veteran. He loved America and was a patriot all the days of his life. His love of God, Country and Family were the guiding force in his life.
After the Army he went on to have a successful career in commercial construction. Building throughout the Pacific Northwest. Ultimately he finished his career in Florida with Hardin Construction. Where he supervised the building of the St. Johns Town Center. On time and under budget was the hallmark of his success.
Scott and Dena were married on September 25, 1993. Their union brought together their families which consisted of adult children and grandchildren. The family continued to grow with more grandchildren and great grandchildren throughout the years. The end result was an expansion of love.
Throughout Scott’s life he maintained a church fellowship. He found his final church family at River Christian Church.
Scott was generous of heart and happily shared his time and resources as a member of a small church group called the Empty Nester’s. He served many charitable outreach programs in Clay County. These included: At risk teens, battered women shelter, Christmas boxes for children in Africa, and adopting a family at Christmas to site just a few.
He was also a long-time member of the Elks Lodge. As well as a member of the Optimist Club in Washington state.
Scott was a mountain man at heart. He had a passion for nature and the outdoors. He and Dena shared their love of mountains and enjoyed many great adventures throughout the years as Mountain buddies. Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking. He was also an avid reader, a history buff, and enjoyed travel.
Scott was survived by his best friend and loving wife Dena Carol Dartt; his son, Walter Schuyler Dartt and his wife Mary; his daughter, Britt Simenson and her husband Jesse; his stepdaughter, Christina Grochala and her husband John; his stepson, Robert Figueroa and his wife Monica; his stepson, William Figueroa and his wife Cheryl; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 6 at 11 AM at River Christian Church, 5900 US-17 Fleming Island, FL 32003.
The reception immediately to follow at the Elks Lodge of Green Cove Springs, 702 S Orange Ave. Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.
