With his open arms, the Lord gently welcomed his child, Wanda, into his kingdom for eternal life. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that will be deeply missed. Her memories will remain in our hearts forever.
Wanda Lee Short Miller Custer was born in Lakeland, FL on August 17, 1943 to parents, Clarence and Marie Short. She was a born-again Christian and loved fishing, reading, music, thrift store shopping and, most of all, her family.
She was predeceased by her parents and an infant daughter, Karen J. Miller. She is survived by her son, Derek M. Miller (Christine); her daughters, Sonya D. Sotolongo (John) and Hope L. Miller; her brothers, Rudolph E. Short (Lois) and Nicholas C. Short (Cathy); her sister, Deborah A. Martin; her grandchildren, Brandon, Alayna, Dylan, Ruby and Isabella.
The family will receive friends at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
