William Glassman

On March 29, 2025, William “Bill” Glassman passed away at the Katherine Smith Memory Care Unit located in Moosehaven Retirement Community, Orange Park, Florida at the age of 85. He was born on July 15, 1939 in Camden, New Jersey and is predeceased by his parents, William and Ellen “Elsie” Glassman, his sister Geraldine O’Conlon, his wife Janice Glassman and his longtime companion Lilly Lipinsky. He is survived by his children Patricia “Patty” Hogue (Bobby) of Jacksonville, Florida, William J. Glassman (Denise) of Gloucester City, New Jersey, Edward R. Glassman (Michele “Mickie”) of Gloucester City, New Jersey, Debbie Schouk (Richard) of Burlington, New Jersey and Dawn Wood (Kevin) of Browns Mills, New Jersey, as well as 20 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

He served 1.5 years in the Army Reserve, was a former member of the Gloucester City Fire Department in Gloucester City, New Jersey and owner of Bills Sales in Gloucester City, New Jersey and Columbus Farmers Market in Columbus, New Jersey.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Pemberton, New Jersey and later Lodge #1058 in Marathon, Florida. He was also a member and Exulted Ruler from 1999 - 2000 of the Elks (BPOE #2085) in Bordentown, New Jersey

A memorial service will be held at Moosehaven on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 10 am with a grave side service and internment on April 28, 2025 at 11 am at Holy Assumption Cemetery in Roebling, NJ.
