Winnifred was born in Mankato, Minnesota March 22, 1934 to Fred and Gladys Stanford. She is survived by a brother Robert Stanford of Longview, Washington, nephews Alan Stanford of Cape Coral Florida, and Eric Stanford of Monument Colorado, Niece Jana Schmutz of Longview, Washington, and their families. She graduated Park Rapids High School, Minnesota, in 1952. Graduated Bethel College, in St. Paul, Minnesota 1956, Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors. Also completed a Master’s degree at the University of Minnesota. Served as a missionary with American Baptist International Ministries, at Filamer Christian University, Roxas City Philippines, 1963-1998. Wrote the text, "Learning to Read in a Second Language," in 1985. Also co-authored "Filamer Through the Years", with Nestor D Bunda, for the 100th anniversary of the school. Winnifred moved to Penney Farms in 2002.
