John Robert Scott

John Robert Scott, 75, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away June 18, 2013 after a short illness. He was born on February 28, 1938 in Daytona Beach, FL. to Martin L. and Margaret Burrill Scott. John Scott was a Navy veteran who served for four years. He worked for the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL as a security guard for 7 years. John Scott was preceded in death by his wife Ann English Scott, parents, and a brother William M. Scott. He is survived by his brothers James E. Scott of Dublin, CA and Raymond A Scott of Thomasville, GA; sister, Margaret Scott Saye and brother-in-law, Jack F. Saye of Jacksonville, FL; nephew, Martin Scott; nieces, Wanda Scott and Debra L. Shuler. A memorial service will be held July 24, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Arlington United Methodist Church, 1400 University Blvd N, Jacksonville, FL in the chapel with Rev. Larry Shields officiating and a reception will be held after the service. A graveside service will be held July 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the cemetery. John will be laid to rest at Old Hickory Grove Cemetery in Green Cove Springs next to his beloved wife.
