Doris Lucille Jackson, 88, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, in Palatka, Florida. Born to Napoleon "Sweet" and Lena Baxley Deese on October 23, 1934, in Maxville, Florida.

Doris loved working in the television industry as Traffic Supervisor for many years. Channel 6 and 9 in Orlando and Channel 4, 12 and retiring from Channel 30 in Jacksonville. Doris at 14 years of age, married Condie Rudd, a young Navy sailor, and raised 3 of her children while traveling the world.

She is preceded in death by Richard Lamar Jackson, whom she married later in life, for 27 years and they made their forever home in Palatka, Florida.

Doris was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Palatka. Doris loved having gatherings with family and friends and loved to cook.

She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Deese (Rosalie) of Middleburg, Florida; sons, Harold Rudd (Nancy) of Palatka, Florida and Brian Bausman of Warrenton, Virginia; daughters, Linda Kersey (Kent) Middleburg, Florida, Sharon Burgett of Vancouver, Washington; stepdaughters, Renee Archaga (Javier) of Apopka, Florida, Jennifer Moriarty (Shawn) of Clayton, Georgia; 13 Grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am - 11:00am Monday, November 7, 2022, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and the funeral service will start at 11:00am with Pastor Derek Ashford officiating. Burial will follow at Deese Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.
