Grace Marie Churchill

Grace Marie Churchill, 85, a longtime resident of Orange Park, passed away on July 12, 2023.

Grace was married to her husband, Dwight Churchill (1936-2020) for 59 years until his death three years ago. Grace was both the matriarch and the rock of her family and stressed the importance of family to her two sons. As she added grandchildren and great-grandchildren to her family, they became a joy that sparkled in her daily life.  

Grace had a gift for getting people to talk and was a great listener.  She had a quick wit and her humor was infectious. She loved a good story and was a good storyteller especially to make you laugh. The Life Care Center staff where Grace lived the last few years became family to her. Grace became a grandma to everyone she touched in her life.

Grace is survived by her sons Kevin and Scott.  Kevin Churchill and his wife Pat live in Fleming Island, Florida, where they raised her grandchildren, Matthew and Kelsey.  Matthew Churchill and his wife Kristen live in Belmont, NC. Kelsey Harris and her husband Colton of Fleming Island, FL have three of Grace's great-grandchildren: Grayson, Sloane & Graham. Scott Churchill and his wife Becky live in Fleming Island,Florida.  Their daughter, Samantha Sturgeon with husband Jacob of Jacksonville, FL have two of Graces great-grandchildren, Addisyn & James. Their son, Grace's grandson, Kyle Herren with wife Bekah of Callahan, FL have two more of Grace's great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Makayla. Grace is also survived by her sister Mary Anne Long husband Tom and brother-in-law Gene Bobey who all reside in Syracuse, New York.  

Grace will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  Funeral services will be Friday, July 28,2023 at 10:00am, with receiving of friends 30 minutes prior in the Broadus-Raines Chapel to honor her life.
