Jeff Elbert Glisson, a beloved Husband, Dad, Pa, Brother, Uncle, and friend, peacefully joined his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 2, 2023- leaving a legacy of love and kindness. He was born on December 24, 1947, in Swainsboro, Georgia. Jeff exemplified dedication and diligence, instilling a strong work ethic in his children and grandchildren. He respected and appreciated history and life events and had a knack for telling stories to spread joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone he encountered. His compassionate and welcoming nature made strangers feel like lifelong friends. His family would describe him a strong but gentle and kind man. Active and vibrant, Jeff found joy in staying fit, dedicating time to the gym, and pursuing interests like karate and amateur boxing in his younger days. He always wore an infectious smile that embodied a zest for life, inspiring those around him. Above all, Jeff's greatest source of pride was his family. He cherished every moment spent together whether working on projects with his son, tending to the yard with his great-grandson, or supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events. His unwavering presence and devotion highlighted the importance of family bonds, a value he deeply cherished and cultivated. Jeff's faith was an integral part of his life. His love for the Lord was evident in his devotion to attending church and fostering fellowship among his brothers and sisters in Christ. He exemplified his love for Jesus through his exceptional character, demonstrating unconditional love and support as the best Husband, Dad, Pa, Brother, Uncle, and friend anyone could ever ask for. Jeff is preceded in death by his son Jake Glisson, father Hennon Glisson, mother Lois Glisson, brother Theron Glisson, sister Sheila Glisson, sister Shirley Baker, and brother George Glisson.
Survived by his loving wife of 58 years Pamela Sue (Pulliam) Glisson, his daughter Daphne (Jeremy) Gibson, his son Luke (Tonya) Glisson, granddaughter Lahryn (Steve) Davis, granddaughter Alicia (Mikey) Adams, grandson Jared Glisson, great-grandson Waylon Van Tol, great-granddaughter Callie Adams, his sisters Faye (Raymond) Bland, Eva (Robert) Mitchell, Ann Glisson, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Russell Baptist Church. Funeral services will start at 11:00 am with Reverend Chad Weeks officiating and graveside will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
