Juanita R. Fillingim

Juanita R. Fillingim (Jerry), 82 years old of Green Cove Springs, FL, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on October 27th 2022.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Andrew Fillingim; her birth parents, Vaughn & Velma (Simmons) Ruhl; her parents that raised her, Carroll & Norma Jean Howard; her brother, Darrell Ruhl; sisters, Alice Ruhl and Berdina (Daryl) Crissinger.

Juanita is survived by her brothers Marvin (Gladys) Ruhl and Larry Ruhl (Helen Bowers); sister, Joyce (Edward) Matthis; daughter, Kathleen Mark Fillingim; granddaughters, Tricia Hajek (Chad), Tiffany Hajek, Josey and Jessica Kelly (Scott); grandson, Jimmie Mark and other great grand kids, nieces and nephews.

Juanita was raised on a farm. She talked about her life caring for the cows and the work of handling feed bags and bales of hay. She said it was hard work. She worked as a waitress to pay her way through Beauty School, where she met her husband. Jimmie was a truck driver, after they married, they drove together. She also worked at Pick n Save, was a hairdresser. Her last employment was with The Clay County Council on Aging as a driver.

Juanita was a member of Decoy Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs, FL and she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, word search puzzles and reading.

She will be remembered for her care and love for others. Always encouraging others to live a righteous life. Giving to others in their time of need.

The family will receive friends at 10:00am on November 5th 2022 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Reverend Bobby Baker officiating.  Interment at Hickory Grove Cemetery will be private.
