It is with great sadness that we announce that Ronald J. Dailey of Cranford, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, in Fleming Island, Florida. He was 79 years old.
Ronald was born in Newark on July 9th, 1941 and baptized at St. Charles Borromeo Church in August 1941.
He attended Hawkins Street School and Eastside High School in Newark. He proudly served in the USMC from 1958-1964 and was honorably discharged.
Ron married the love of his life, Evangeline (Angie), on May 28, 1966, at St. James Catholic Church in Newark. Ron could hardly wait to start a family. He and Angie felt blessed to raise a son and two daughters. He loved his family deeply and worked hard to provide his children with opportunities that he never had. He retired from the United Parcel Service in 2004 where he served at the International Helpdesk.
He was a kind, gentle and soft-spoken man with a memorable, contagious laugh. Ron gave the best, loving hugs. He and Angie loved to cruise. He was a dapper dresser with a collection of fedoras and remembered for the magic he created on the dance floor with his wife of 55 years.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Joseph Michael Dailey, stepfather John Thomas, mother, Bernice (Breuninger) Thomas, sister, Patricia Ann Bernadelli.
Surviving to treasure his memory are his wife Evangeline (Houmis), son, Darren (wife, Susanne), daughter, Darlene Dailey (fiancé, Mike Viscomi) and daughter, Deanna Macaluso (husband, Angelo), grandchildren Mary (Dailey) Ohannesian, Megan Dailey, Kailey Booth, Peter Macaluso, Brian Macaluso and Jake Booth.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Ron’s memory to the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus (https://bit.ly/3bExsXT), Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (ClearGive (clear-give.com) or Semper Fi Foundation (Donate | Semper Fi & America's Fund (semperfifund.org).
